UNT’s cybercemetery

Heard about this one through KERA’s North Texas News and Commentary podcast awhile back. The University of North Texas, my old alma mater, runs a cybercemetery ‘to provide permanent public access to the Web sites and publications of defunct U.S. government agencies and commissions.’ It is a pretty great resource for materials that the U.S. Government used to have on its websites, and is sort of like an authoritative version of the Wayback Machine.

I think it is a great project, and something like it should be implemented probably for most government agencies. Preserving the entire site is a great research tool.
